Yamaha Center 30th anniversary

Hi everyone,
Yamaha Center Helsingborg has been celebrating their 30th anniversary this weekend. Of course we were on hand and lent them a couple of bikes (an AS2J, an AS2C and an AS3)!

Other than our vintage bikes there were, of course, the latest and greatest models from Yamaha and a set of bikes from 1985 and 1986 when they first opened (a RD500LC, a RD350LC and an SRX600). We’ve worked a lot with Yamaha Center and they are great guys, congratulations on your 30th anniversary!

A Special AS1C

We have managed to get a very special motorcycle: a special limited edition Pearl White and Black AS1C from 1968. Not only was very few made, this is an original condition, unrestored one. It has been driven around 4000km but it looks pretty much new. Click here to go to the gallery and take a look

Just like the original condition AS2C we got a while ago, this one has been kept in a temperature controlled environment for most of the time since it was new.

2/3 USA, 1/3 Europe

This update will be two parts USA and one part Europe.

First the european part: we have kept working on the AS3 Europa and we’re almost finished. We have taken pictures of every step involved, so far it is well over 1000 pictures though I’ll need to sort them a bit. As such we’ll spread the updates out over the coming weeks.

Now on to the first american part: we have got a new 1969 Californian Orange AS2C from the US. It has been kept in a climate controlled environment since it was new at a Yamaha dealer. It only has 640 miles (1029 km) on the meter and even has the original tires. We’ll have a picture gallery up quite soon. The only thing we’ve done apart from cleaning some grime from the transportation is a thorough cleaning of the carburetors. After that we just charged the battery, poured in some petrol and started it up! We have a video of the start and the subsequent test drive below.

On to the second american part: I’m heading abroad to Los Angeles for a bit over a month on 5th of november, next monday, which means I’ll be having a harder time answering the questions you email us so please keep in mind that it might take a little longer for me to respond. Don’t worry, Ole is still here and we have planned ahead to be able to keep updating the site while I’m away.

Now the fun part: our first start and test drive of the AS2C.

Original condition AS2C

We have just bought a new 1969 orange AS2C for our collection. Unlike the other scramblers we have this one is completely unrestored in it’s original condition! It’s hard to believe that the bike is 43 years old from looking at the pictures. It has only been driven 640 Miles, it even has the original tires from 1969! At the moment it is being boxed up in the US, we should have it here in Sweden quite soon. Expect more pictures then!

This actually means that the three most recent finished additions to our collections are bikes that are in completely original, unrestored condition: the blue AS2J, the YCS1 and now this orange AS2C.
