Well, it's the same thing as last week: we still have the fuel tank and seat left. Unfortunately we didn't get the tank before the guys at the paint shop went on holiday so it'll be a while longer.

The good news is that all the small things we had left like the decals, rear view mirrors and handles are done!

As expected everything is going smoothly, we're down to the very last pieces of the puzzle now. The only thing left is the fuel tank and the seat, apart from that everything is more or less in place.

The great thing about this bike is that every last component in the engine is brand new and unused. Most of the time we use the crankshaft and engine block from the orginal bike but this time the engine has been built from scratch!

At last the engine is done! All parts in the engine are NOS, even the sides of the engine block and the crankshaft are NOS and have been fully balanced. As soon as we got the engine we could continue with the rest of the bike. We've gathered all the parts needed to complete the bike apart from the fuel tank so hopefully we'll make some good progress :)

The custom part of the build is starting to show. As I wrote a while back in the last update for the second blue AS1 we took the flasher lenses from this bike and put on the AS1, in their place we've used US-spec red lenses to match the rest of the colour-scheme.

We've also managed to get a hold of real period whitewalls from a friendly soul in the US. The are a tiny bit bigger than the regular wheels so we've had to raise the front fender to give the wheels proper clearance. The rear wheel is also in place together with the brake shield. We've chosen to use more polished brake shields both front and rear as well as using chromed parts for the front and rear brake.

Last but not least: the oil tank is in place as well!

The painted parts are back from Bassel! We've received everything except the fuel tank which we're still working on the design for. It looks really promising so far.

The frame has been repaired and give a nice coat of paint! Now it's time to get rolling!

So far we've got a few of the parts in place, worth noting is that we've managed to come across a bunch of NOS steering locks! This is the first time we've got our hands on new ones. At the same time we've had a stroke of bad luck, a while back we managed to get a few pairs of rear footrest rubbers for the AS3. As it turns out we've been fooled, they're copies sold as original and on top of that they're a few millimeters short. Just goes to show that you need to keep on your toes when buying online from people.

This bike will be dedicated to the band Titan, a new melodic rock group with a lot of potential! Check them out with the links above or the video below.

We got the bike to start this project a while back and disassembled it way back in november, now that the second orange AS2C is done this will be our main focus! It is one of the frames we got back sand blasted last week. At the moment it's at Yamaha Center to repair a crack in the engine mount, then it's of to Bassel for a nice layer of paint!
