Yamaha AS3 'Europa' 1973

This is the German version of the AS3 called the AS3 Europa, it featured elongated turn signals, a chunkier fuel tank and exhaust pipes, a bit different trim on the seat and the rear was different.

Since we've gotten a lot of our bikes from Germany they have all been in the Europa style but we've converted them to regular AS3s, it's about time we keep one in the original Europa version!

The bike is in pieces! It was harder work than what we originally thought but at last we managed to loosen all the stuck screws.

Now it's off to get the bike sandblasted and get a new paintjob!

Wow, as opposed to the last string of bikes where all the screws have come loose easily this one is a different story, pretty much all the screws are trouble to get out. However we are making progress and it looks like it's still original, a lot of the rare components like the little metal holders on the carburetors are still there and the generator screws are (were) original without any shearing at the head.

We just received this one from Germany, it's in great condition given the age, it feels nice and composed. Looking closely you can see that it has tipped over at some point in time but it has obviously happened when it was parked since the only marks of it is bent turn signals and a scratched headlight.
