Shiny

Hello everyone!
Today we have another update on the yellow AS3. It’s as good as done now, just missing a few parts. The tank has come from Bassel and gone on the bike, the paint job is just insane. Here’s a quick teaser of how the bike looks now, see more of it in the project update.

Until next time!

Tanked

The tank is done! The paint job on it  is just insane, it’s hard to show how it actually looks through pictures. The gold flakes create a 3D effect when looking at it. The seat is also on the bike now, it’s NOS all the way. The only things left are the two side covers for the engine, they’ll be done early this coming week, expect a gallery of it all next weekend :)

El Dorado

Hello everyone!
Tonight we just have a quick update on the yellow AS3 project. The headlight and some minor details have been fixed, the tank has still got a few days left before the paint job is complete, hopefully the bike will be all done next weekend :)

Lights

Today the time had come to fix the electrics and headlight. All you really need to do to connect things properly is to make sure you attach cables with the same colour together. Though as always when you’re working with the electrical system, it’s good to have a volt meter at hand and test things so you don”t short circuit the bike. The throttle is also fixed, regular washing up liquid is really great to get the rubber parts on.

Just arriving

Hello everyone!

Tonight we have some great news! There are two new arrivals here at Yamaparts, one currently orange AS2C that’s going to become red and one red AS1 that’s going to become a blue AS1C. The AS1 was restored by Graham Head a few years back and is still in great condition. It runs smoothly so just for fun we made a video with it:

The orange AS2C is on the bench right now to be disassembled and while it’s there it has taken the second blue AS2Js place. But don’t worry, there’s a new update on the second blue AS2J project tonight on the things that went on before it went of the bench. In the news gallery today you can see both the AS2C and the AS1.
